Anton Delecca QUARTET

This has been a long term project that began many years ago in 1999. The original lineup was Mark Fitzgibbon - piano, Matt Clohesy - bass and Dave Beck - drums. We released our debut album in 2001 entitled Flow. We played many shows at Bennetts Lane in Melbourne as well as a performance at the Melbourne International Jazz Festival and an ABC recording.

Several years later I reformed the band with musicians I was collaborating with at that time, Will Poskitt - piano, Danny Farrugia - drums and Jonathan Zion - bass. Will tragically passed away in 2018 and I made the decision to continue the group as I knew that’s what he would have wanted. Marc Hannaford started playing piano after this and we recorded the album Lost City which was released on Jazzhead Records in 2010.

Soon after, pianist Luke Howard joined the band. Luke is a star in his own right and is an artist on the UK label Mercury KX. We released the band’s most recent album The Healer on Jazzhead Records in 2013. The album was awarded Best Jazz Album in the Age Music Victoria Genre Awards the following year and was included in PBS FM’s Top 10 Albums of 2013.
